§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyWe have no plans to change the current policy on entitlement for free NHS sight tests. We believe it right that those people who can afford to do so should pay for their optical costs. Provision has been made for the more vulnerable in the community, such as children, those in receipt of income support or family credit and people with special medical needs to continue to receive free sight tests under the NHS.
