To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what recent representations he has received on his plans to encourage self-employment.

Self-employment has increased by 72 per cent. since 1979 as a result of the Government's policies to encourage enterprise. My right hon. Friend has recently received a large number of representations on these policies.
