Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Carmarthen (Mr. Williams) of 26 February,Official Report, column 89, when he expects the first two units of the flue gas desulphurisation plant at Drax to become fully operational.

I am advised by the Central Electricity Generating Board that the first two 660 MW units at Drax power station are expected to be operational by the end of 1993.
