HC Deb 15 March 1990 vol 169 c350W
Sir Anthony Meyer

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he proposes to make any changes to class XVII, vote 5, of his Department's cash limits in the current year.

Mr. Peter Walker

As foreshadowed in my statements on I and 13 March, at columns 403 and 143 respectively, about the flood disaster in north Wales, the Government will be making contributions totalling £150,000 to the disaster funds.

This contribution will be met from savings on class XVII, vote 5, and the cash limit for the vote has been reduced accordingly from £268,972,000 to £268,822,000. As a result, the contribution will not add to the planned total of public expenditure.
