The Government have today presented to Parliament their response to the House of Commons Agriculture Committee's progress report on salmonella in eggs. The response welcomes the Agriculture Committee's review of the measures adopted to combat the salmonella problem and notes that the committee has not recommended any change to the steps taken to protect public health other than in relation to imported eggs.
