§ Mr. Alan HowarthThe Government support the in-service training of teachers in religious education under the local education authority training grants scheme. The total of expenditure supported in 1989–90 is £1.1 million. In 1990–91, training in religious education will be subsumed within the national priority area for the basic curriculum and collective worship.
