§ Mr. Michael ForsythInformation on the hours actually worked by junior hospital doctors is not available centrally. The Scottish Home and Health Department asked health boards in January 1989 to review all junior doctors' rota commitments with a view to eliminating those which required doctors to be on duty more often than one night and one weekend in three. Reports on the outcome of this exercise are currently being evaluated.
