§ Mr. Peter LloydStaff in my private office and that of my right hon. and learned Friend undertake a range of duties, including the consideration of hon. Members' representations to Ministers on individual immigration cases. No staff are employed solely to deal with such representations and no record is kept of the number of staff hours spent on such work.
§ Mr. AllenTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make it his policy to collect information on the number of representations his private office receives from hon. Members on arbitration on a decision of the chief immigration officer.
§ Mr. Peter LloydNo. This information is not readily available and its collection would serve little practical purpose. I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to his question on 2 March at column349.
