Lord Brougham and Vaux

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What research projects into road safety are under way at the Home Office police research unit.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

The Home Office research and planning unit are currently undertaking studies of how traffic policing resources are organised and targeted, and on the level of driving while disqualified. The Home Office scientific research and development branch are involved in the testing of speed detection and other devices which could be used for the enforcement of road traffic law.
