§ Mr. CurryThe 1989 June agricultural census showed an increase in the beef breeding herd to its highest level for a decade, for the first time fully offsetting the fall in the dairy herd. The December 1989 census showed a continuation of this trend, with a rise of 9 per cent. over the previous year. These figures indicate that producers' expectations remain high.
