HC Deb 07 March 1990 vol 168 c706W
Mr. Menzies Campbell

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) if he will make it his policy to charge facility fees when journalists or radio or television crews are carried in search and rescue helicopters engaged in flying operations;

(2) if he will make it his policy to recover landing charges incurred by search and rescue helicopters when these are caused by the picking up and setting down of journalists or radio or television crews.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

It is already the policy to charge for the costs of providing facilities for journalists and radio or television crews, except where the provision of the facilities is judged to be in the interests of the Department, when no charge is made. Each case will continue to be judged on its merits.
