§ Mr. Peter MorrisonFigures for the Department's most recent expenditure plans for 1990–91 to 1992–93 are set out in chapter 5 of the public expenditure White Paper (Cm. 1005). These show that in 1990–91 the Department plans to spend £126.4 million on nuclear research and development (including some restructuring costs), and £20.3 million on research and development on renewable sources of energy, including £7 million on wind energy and £1.2 million on tidal energy.
