§ Mr. OrmeTo ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what is the average charge made by private dentists in England and Wales for the initial 15-minute consultation;
(2) what percentage of dentists practising in England and Wales in each year since 1980 have not treated any patients under the National Health Service;
(3) what percentage of dentists who previously provided dental care under the National Health Service have opted instead to provide private treatment only, in the last 10 years, listed by year;
(4) what percentage of those treated have received dental care from the private sector in the last 10 years, listed by year.
§ Mr. FreemanThe Department does not keep records of the extent or cost of private treatment or of the number of dentists practising privately.
