§ Mr. Austin MitchellTo ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he has taken any steps to prevent individuals from the auditing firms criticised by his inspectors for audits of investment companies from participating in development of auditing policy in relation to investment business.
§ Mr. RedwoodIf, by referring to audit policy, the hon. Member has in mind the work of the Auditing Practices Committee then I have taken no steps to influence which individuals are appointed to that committee by the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies.
