To ask the Minister for the Arts what information he has on participation in the arts in the north-west.

I understand that in 1988–89 audience figures in the north-west Arts region (population 4.8 million) at arts venues—including theatres, galleries, concert halls, and small touring and community venues—were in the region of 4 million.
