§ 35. Mr. John EvansTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the effects of the ambulance workers' dispute on the emergency services in Northern Ireland.
§ Mr. NeedhamFull accident and emergency care has been maintained by the ambulance service since the dispute began. Some services to outpatient clinics have been affected, but all patients requiring urgent treatment have been transported. No outpatient clinic has been cancelled because of this dispute. It has not been necessary to seek assistance from the RUC or from voluntary aid societies.
