To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many cases of Lyme disease were reported in the last 12 months.

§ Mr. Dorrell
In 1989, a total of 16 laboratory reports of Lyme disease in England and Wales were received by the public health laboratory service's communicable disease surveillance centre. The provisional number of reports received for the first five months of 1990 was five.
