HC Deb 27 June 1990 vol 175 c227W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on what matters were agreed at the European Community Consumer Affairs Council on 13 June.

Mr. Forth

The directive on package travel was adopted. There was agreement in principle that the European home and leisure accident surveillance system should be extended and that the programme should be adoped later in June. It was agreed that the rapid exchange of information system should be extended, the matter being remitted to the Committee of Permanent Representatives to consider further detailed procedures.
