§ Mr. Douglas Hogg[holding answer 22 June 1990]:This information could be obtained only at disproportionate cost, since my Department's records do not specify the nature, voluntary or otherwise, of grant-funded bodies.
The task forces work with many different groups, including voluntary organisations, which can help fulfil their enterprise and employment objectives. Moreover, since task forces have a limited life, they devote some of their energy to strengthening local organisations which can step into their role when they leave. Voluntary organisations have an important part to play here, provided that they represent the most cost-effective approach in each case.
