§ Mr. Alan ClarkTaking account of some defence goods which are not readily identifiable as such in the Customs tariff, it is estimated that United Kingdom exports of defence equipment have fluctuated around an average of 3 to 4 per cent. of total visible exports during the period from 1985. Because of changes in the coverage of the statistics, it is not possible to give a consistent annual series of figures over the period.
