§ Mrs. Gillian ShephardIn mid-1988 there were about 6.7 million women aged 60 or over in Great Britain. Of these an estimated 2.8 million were in receipt of an income-related benefit. The estimate relates to all women aged 60 or over including those who are the partners of claimants.
