The NDC is funded by the Department of Trade and Industry for inward investment activities. For the three years 1987/88 to 1989/90, the NDC received additional pump priming funding from the DTI to fund a "core programme" of activities aimed at encouraging regional regeneration in the North of England. The Department of Employment also provides co-funding of certain NDC activities.
