To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many business men have promised to serve on the boards of training and enterprise councils.

Mr. Eggar

Over 1,000 business leaders have been involved so far in setting up training and enterprise councils.

Of the 15 TECs that have now become fully operational, there are 138 private sector board members.
