HC Deb 20 June 1990 vol 174 c624W
Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make an assessment of the consequences for research underpinning the work of his Department in relation to insect and aphid control and beekeeping, of the reductions proposed by the natural history museum in its collections and research.

Mr. Curry

The Department's entomologists at the ADAS central science laboratory use the extensive and unique collections at the natural history museum in order to solve difficult identification problems.

We have been assured that the natural history museum's entomology collections will continue to be maintained and that access will continue to be provided to us.
