TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he is now prepared to meet Mr. Rauf Denktash, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; and if he will make a statement about political progress following the presidential and parliamentary elections in Northern Cyprus.
§ Mr. MaudeWe would consider a ministerial meeting with Mr. Denktash if it would materially assist the achievement of a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Cyprus problem. That is not currently the case. We fully support United Nations efforts to reconvene the intercommunal talks.
