§ Mr. WaldegraveWe of course deplore anti-Semitism in all its forms and will continue to do all we can to counter it. Our embassies in eastern Europe are monitoring the situation carefully. There have been some reported incidents of anti-Semitism, and the freer atmosphere has allowed it to be expressed openly, but we do not think that there has been a general increase in anti-Semitism in the area.
