§ 69. Mr. PaiceTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he is taking to review the effects of the Firearms (Amendment) Act and its implementation by different police forces.
§ Mr. Peter LloydUnder section 22 of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 it is the function of the firearms consultative committee to review the provisions of the Firearms Acts 1968 to 1988 and to make to the Home Secretary such recommendations for improving their working as the committee thinks necessary. The Home Office also keeps the operation of the Act under general review. Administration of firearms controls is a matter for individual chief officers of police.
