To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the ministerial group on women's issues last met; and what subjects were discussed.

Mr. John Patten

The ministerial group on women's issues last met on 26 February 1990 and discussed domestic violence and child care. The group also received a report of the United Kingdom's presentation in January to the United Nation's committee on the convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women.

The group will next meet on 19 June.

Between meetings of the group there are regular meetings between officials in the Departments concerned to ensure that action agreed by the group is taken forward.
