HC Deb 11 June 1990 vol 174 c10W
Mr. Winnick:

To ask the Prime Minister if it remains the Government's policy that Mr. Rushdie will receive the full protection of the authorities, regardless of any financial and manpower cost, so long as there remains a threat to his life.

The Prime Minister

Mr. Rushdie's protection is a matter for the police, who will take any action that they consider necessary in the circumstances.
