To ask the Minister for the Arts what is the level of public support for the royal opera house for the current year; and if he will make a statement.

In 1990–91 the Arts Council's grant to the royal opera house has been set at £15.2 million. This represents an increase of 11 per cent. on last year's figure, well above the rate of inflation.
