§ Mr. LuceI believe that my proposals will result in a structure for arts funding which will give even better value for money. It is however too early to say what savings will be released from these changes. More importantly, they will lead to clarification of funding responsibilities, elimination of the duplication and overlap between the Arts Council and the regions noted by both the Wilding and National Audit Office reports, and strengthening of regional accountability for the money that they spend on the arts.
