HC Deb 07 June 1990 vol 173 c702W
21. Mr. Ian Bruce

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what benefit he expects to flow to small companies as a result of his corporation tax proposals.

Mr. Norman Lamont

Over 20,000 companies—40 per cent. of all companies paying corporation tax at more than 25 per cent.—will pay less tax. The reduction will amount to about £40 million in a full year.

50. Mr. Bidwell

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much corporation tax has been paid by United Kingdom branches of United States banks for the six years to 31 December 1988; and how much tax has been assessed and stood over for the same period.

Mr. Lilley

I regret that the information could be provided only at a disproportionate cost.
