HC Deb 07 June 1990 vol 173 c691W
Mr. O'Brien

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will publish the records of newly diagnosed cases of cancer as submitted by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys on magnetic tapes, for the Yorkshire region for the last three years for which records are available.

Mr. Dorrell

The Office of Population Censuses and Surveys collects data on newly diagnosed cases of cancer from the regional cancer registries on an on-going basis, and publishes such data when it is judged that all regions' data for a year are reasonably complete. Receipts from Yorkshire region since 1984 are shown in the table. Nationally the years 1984 and 1985 are deemed to be complete, and are analysed and published. Subsequent years are not considered complete.
