HC Deb 06 June 1990 vol 173 c640W
Mr. John Garrett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what toxic substances are dumped in the tip at Attlebridge, Norfolk.

Mr. Trippier

The responsibility for determining which substances may be deposited at waste disposal facilities rests with the disposal authority who exercise this control through the conditions of the site licence. The Control of Pollution Act 1974 requires that each disposal authority maintains, for public inspection, a register containing copies of all disposal licences issued by that authority and currently in force. I suggest, therefore, that the hon. Member should apply to Norfolk county council for the information he seeks.
