To ask the Secretary of State for Health what further representations he has received about the availability of human organs for transplantation; and if he will make a statement.

Since the reply given to my hon. Friend by my hon. Friend the then Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health on 5 April 1990 at columns736–37, we have received representations from hon. Members on behalf of the president of the British Kidney Patient Association and of several constituents. We are also in frequent contact with organisations and individuals interested in promoting organ donation.
