§ Mr. MeacherTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in theOfficial Report a table giving the percentage increase in (a) income from employment, (b) income from self-employment, (c) rent, dividends and interest, (d) social security benefits and (e) personal disposable income, between 1978–79 and 1989–90, giving the contribution of each towards personal disposable income.
§ Mr. Norman Lamont[holding answer 24 May 1990]: Estimates in respect of the first quarter of 1990 will be published in late June. The most up-to-date comparison available, for calendar years 1978 to 1989, gives the following percentage increases and percentages of personal disposable income:
