§ Dr. David ClarkTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will invoke article 36 of the treaty of Rome to prohibit salmonella-contaminated eggs being imported into the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. GummerAs the hon. Gentleman is aware, it would be illegal to attempt to use article 36 to prohibit the import of eggs on such grounds.
