To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he last met representatives of retail and distributive industries to discuss recycling of materials through the establishment of bottle, can and paper banks.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has not yet had the opportunity to meet those concerned with the recycling of material collected through bank schemes. My Department maintains regular contact with those involved. I met representatives of the recycling industries in the House of Commons on 11 July.
