§ Mr. DewarTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in theOfficial Report tables for the financing of local authority expenditure separately in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland which are directly comparable with the United Kingdom table printed as table 21.4.13 of Cm 1021.
§ Mr. Norman LamontData are not held in a form which allows the disaggregation of table 21.4.13 of Cm 1021 across territories. Consequently it is not possible to provide analyses directly comparable to this table except at excessive cost. However, much of the information requested is contained in a slightly different form in:
- i. Local Government Financial Statistics England
- ii. Scottish Local Government Financial Statistics
- iii. Welsh Local Government Financial Statistics
- iv. Northern Ireland Annual Abstract of Statistics
These are published annually by the Department of the Environment, the Scottish Office, the Welsh Office and the Department of Finance and Personnel, Northern Ireland respectively and are obtainable from the Library.
§ Mr. DewarTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in theOfficial Report tables for the financing of local authority expenditure in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom, in a form comparable to table 21.4.13 of Cm. 1021, but analysing the financing of local authority expenditure as in table 21.4.6, and not the financing of local authority expenditure on a national accounts definition.
§ Mr. Norman LamontThe table shows the financing of local authority expenditure as defined in table 21.4.6 of Cm. 1021 for the United Kingdom:
