To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what proposals he has received from Lancashire county council for a workable solution to the problems of sewage disposal on the Fylde coast and in the River Ribble.

North West Water plc is consulting interested parties, including local authorities, about proposals for disposing of sewage on the Flyde coast. It will then be for the National Rivers Authority to consider applications for discharge consents.
