HC Deb 25 July 1990 vol 177 c325W
Mr. Kilfedder

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many prisoners from Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic are currently serving a prison sentence in Scotland.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

I regret that this information is not available in the format requested. However, on the basis of provisional figures, in 1989, 56 persons born in Northern Ireland and 22 persons born in the Irish Republic were received under sentence into penal establishments in Scotland.
