§ Mr. RedwoodThe Department of Trade and Industry published tradeable information guidelines in September 1986. This served in part as the basis for the European Commission publication "Guidelines for improving the synergy between the public and private sectors in the information market". A revised edition of the United Kingdom guide has been published by my Department this month, entitled "Government-held tradeable information. Guidelines for government departments in dealing with the private sector". This is now being distributed to Government Departments and others who have expressed interest.
