§ 88. Mrs. GoldingTo ask the Minister for the Arts whether he will make it his policy to establish a national audit of buildings in the arts, museums and library services.
§ Mr. LuceAs I made clear in the debate on the arts and heritage on 4 July, I take account of the buildings' needs 45W and priorities set out in the corporate plans I receive annually from the trustees of the national museums and galleries in England. I am at present providing £180 million over the next three years towards these needs. It is for other relevant funding bodies, including local authorities, to determine the needs for the buildings within their responsibility, but I have indicated my support for the general need to put arts buildings in good order over the coming years.
