§ Mr. Douglas Hogg[holding answer 18 July 1990]: Information on numbers or weight of machine tools produced is not readily available. The most recent data on output of machine tools in money terms may be found in the latest issue of "Engineering Sales and Orders", a copy of which is in the House of Commons Library. The table shows the most recent international comparisons from industry sources:
