§ Mr. MacleanThe specific recommendations made under the convention with respect to poultry and pigs have been implemented in this country by means of the appropriate codes of recommendations for the welfare of livestock. There is as yet no recommendation for veal calves but our ban on the traditional veal crate came into force at the beginning of this year.
