To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his Department's policy in respect of the safety in respect to foodstuffs of the products alachlor, aldicarb and pyrethrin, and aflatoxin: and if he will make a statement.

The Advisory Committee on Pesticides is currently reviewing alachlor and aldicarb. The pyrethrins are included in the routine review programme.

Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring food contaminant; the Food Advisory Committee is considering the statutory limit which should be set for nuts and nut products.
