§ Mr. ForthI shall continue to encourage British industry to respond positively to the challenges and opportunities presented by environmental issues. My Department's environmental unit offers advice, and where appropriate assistance, on such issues including the development of improved environmental technology, waste management and recycling. It also keeps fully abreast of the impact of all environmental issues on business efficiency and competitiveness and contributes accordingly to the development of environmental policy and regulation.
