Mr. Hanley

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) how many taxpayers he estimates earned more than £18,200 and less than £23,705 in 1989–90; and how much revenue his Department derived from taxing this band;

(2) how many taxpayers he estimates earned between (a) £16,000 and £17,000, (b) L17,000 and £18,200 and (c) £20,000 and £23,705 in 1989–90; and how much revenue his Department derived from taxing each band.
