To ask the Secretary of State for Wales (1) if his Department will make any assessment of the effects on the petrochemical and allied industries in Wales of a free trade agreement between the European Community and the states of the Gulf Co-operation Council;

(2) if his Department will make any assessment of the effects on employment in the petrochemical and allied industries in Wales of a free trade agreement between the European Community and the states of the Gulf Co-operation Council.

I have no plans to do so. The Government have already consulted widely interested industries.
