HL Deb 16 July 1990 vol 521 c734WA
The Earl of Ilchester

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the efficiency scrutiny carried out under the auspices of the Cabinet Office efficiency unit into the provision of married quarters in the London area has been completed (HL Deb. 17th July 1989, cols. 683–4) and, if so, whether the results will be published.

The Earl of Arran

The efficiency scrutiny of Service married quarters in the London area was completed in August 1989. It found that management of married quarters in London was generally satisfactory, although it did recommend some improvements to the procedures for allocating quarters and suggested a number of areas where estate rationalisation might be possible. The recommendations have been translated into an action plan which is currently being implemented. Publication of the report is not possible for security reasons.
